The San Simeon CSD (your water provider) is required to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule by testing the water system. In the first part of September, five samples were taken at locations on private property within the home’s water system (such as a sink). One of the five samples had an elevated level of lead, which requires mandatory reporting to the California Department of Public Health, Division of Drinking Water. All other samples were within normal levels for lead. In 2022, the last time testing was conducted, all samples were within normal levels for lead.

 As a result of the single sample, mandatory notice is required for all water customers. This obligation is being met by the formal notice found below. The notice was also dropped at every residence and business on September 27, 2025. Retesting will be conducted on Monday, September 29th, and results will be posted on the San Simeon CSD website.

 El CSD de San Simeón (su proveedor de agua) debe cumplir con la Norma de Plomo y Cobre de la Agencia de Protección Ambiental (EPA) mediante análisis del sistema de agua. A principios de septiembre, se tomaron cinco muestras en propiedades privadas dentro del sistema de agua de la vivienda (como un fregadero).
